Do you remember the film from a while back, 'A CLOCKWORK ORANGE'? The street characters spoke a Russo-Inglis language called NADSAT. Their form of polari. This is what it looked like;
Nadsat phrases from "A Clockwork Orange":
Appy Polly Loggies: Apologies, often used insincerely.
Eggiweg: Egg, a playful twist on the English word.
Horrorshow: Cool or good, derived from the Russian word "xorošo".
Droog: Friend, from the Russian word "друг" (drug) meaning friend, and the Welsh "drwg" meaning bad.
Baboochka: Old woman, borrowed from the Russian "бабушка" (babushka).
Gloopy: Stupid, from the Russian "глупый" (glupyj).
The 'British' Gay 'community' had its own form of polari with some examples here;
Butch: A good friend or someone liked.
Bona: Good, nice.
Drag: Clothing.
Dolly: A pretty person.
Eek: Face.
Fantabulosa: Fantastic, fabulous.
Hanky-Panky: Crying.
Jippy Jip: Eat.
Khazi: Toilet.
Lallies: Legs.
Naff: Not good, bad (though this has become more mainstream).
Omee: Man or husband.
Plate: Face.
Scarper: To run away.
Zhooshy: Lush, attractive.
I say 'British', but it was really more a London-based slang, not really spoken beyond the wall. We already had issues in Scotland with Gaelic and Scots language speakers being punished and even openly beaten in classrooms for not speaking "...the Queen's English" – but that was another matter.
Mainstream and vintage professional wrestling have their own form of polari, of course, like this: though it's worth noting that these terms are generally more universal than specific to either British or American wrestling:
Job: To lose a match.
Jobber: Someone who regularly loses matches.
Gimmick: A wrestler's character or persona.
Angle: A storyline or plot in wrestling.
Smack Talk: Trash talking or insulting your opponent during promos or interviews.
Work: A staged or planned event, including most aspects of a match.
Shoot: Something real or unscripted, often used in the context of a promo gone wrong or an injury.
Sell: To convincingly portray an injury or pain from a move.
Bump: To fall or take a hit during a match.
Green: Inexperienced or new to the business.
Face: The good guy or hero in a storyline.
Heel: The bad guy or villain.
But what if gay underground wrestling and underground wrestlers had their own form of polari? What would it sound like?
I have a web-site https://archiveofourown.org/users/wrestler4u/works where I upload various wrestling and male-escort based stories and wrestling artwork (in the PDF versions). My fictional characters, in the REDKNOT WRESTLING GROUP who are an off-shoot of the COCKPIT FACTION, are in the process of developing an underground polari where they can discuss the issues of their explicitly violent and eroticised in-ring 'performances' in public without people twigging the meaning.
Well, here are 100 or so slang/polari terms that could be used in underground and erotobased wrestling. If you can add to them, then contribute to this list:
