Wrestling shirtless is great. Used to do it all the time as a kid with one of my friends. We'd just show up at each others houses with no shirts with us and wrestle. Surprising how wrestling can smetimes be sexy or at other times just male bonding, trying to win or just practising techniques. If you go to classes regularly you get a special relationship with those guys, with the hugs & handshakes too, you don't get in any other aspect of life. If you could be bare top this would be deeper. It pisses me off a bit we always have to wear a rash top (or a gi) in class. I did a tournament where tops weren't mandatory & almost nobody wore one and it gave a greater realism to the fight & sensitivity to the other guys movements.

I think that we like the body contact. In our society men touching each other is generally frowned upon, at least for straight men. Perhaps it's some kind of male bonding and wrestling naked or semi-naked is the oldest sport.

We live in an era where being male, particularly a white male means being blamed for many of life's ills.

When we wrestle bare chest to bare chest, sweating on each other, and contesting with each other. We celebrate being males.

In this day and time, it is great to enjoy being males for a change.
