I was in a similar situation a few years ago. I didn’t want to sell them because I wasn’t 100% certain if the tapes would still play well, but by using the Classified option here I came in contact with a guy who was willing to reimburse me for postage for the titles he wanted. There’s a cheaper USPS Media Rate that’s quite reasonable. So, I didn’t make any $$ but was happy that those tapes had a new home.
If you still have the VCR, and - most importantly, the time, and you think it's worth that time - there are video converters w/software out there that will allow for uploading the VCR's to digital format you can do yourself.
Kind of time consuming to start but once you get familiar with the process, it's kind of an assembly-line situation.
Then from the computer they can be offloaded: DVD'd - if space is an issue on your PC.
Good luck, I have over 100 boxing VHS tapes, some films, some pornos, most erotic boxing, all kinds of kinkboxing etc. but what to do with them all now?
I have a box of over 100 videotapes of wrestling that I've recently converted to digital. Now I'm left with a box of VHS wrestling tapes that I started collecting in the mid-80's. Not just videotaping different TV franchises around the world, but trading with collectors from around the country. All kinds of stuff from the 50's to the early 90's. Florida Wrestling, WWF, Southwest Wrestling, WCW, Georgia Championship wrestling, UK wrestling, Big Time Wrestling, BG East, Canam, personal videotapes of matches, etc. I don't want to just throw these tapes out, that btw, play very well. Any suggestions to what I should do with them?
