As a personal trainer I would concur that you'd want good lat and bi strength. I would add that I personally would focus on endurance training as much as I would strength. Probably battle ropes, cardio row, heavy bag carries, isometrics to failure, etc. I probably would also incorporate core, esp lower back. It doesn't do you any good to have a good hug if your core can't support it.
