That's an arm bar. Almost every martial artist with a secret foot fetish uses it to tease their opponent and almost always makes the opponent want to lock one on to exact revenge lol.

An def go with barefoot here especially for submission. If both fighters are skilled in amateur or Greco-Roman then go for shoes. Personally I wrestle barefoot for most my matches.

Im ok with both from childhood we go bare foot a lot in NZ especially in the summer. When I wear wrestling shoes it feels like Im more competitive its part of the battle...

Barefoot is sexier especially if you’re like me and have a foot fetish! Also like to abuse my opponent when I can by sticking my bare feet in his face. Like it when my opponent does that to me too.

I like to wrestle barefoot or in socks

Newbies wrestlers ask me what is better? Wrestling barefoot or with wrestling shoes ? I answer that personally I prefer to wrestle barefoot mainly for two reasons: 1) Personal feeling is easier and comfortable to wrestle barefoot on the mat. 2) If the wrestler as me uses a higher percentage of his technique by the grips and holds of legs like scissors or a grapewine hold, barefoot legs help to close more tightly and strong the legs grip on the opponent.
Note: One of my experienced opponent who tries to neutralize my legs grips on him, told me that the only way to prevent me use my legs on him is to wrestle with me barefoot. Because only by pinning his barefoot on my barefoot creates an efficient lock on me. It does not happen when he wrestles with the wrestling shoes. The challenge now is to find the method to preventing him from holding his barefoot to my barefoot so that I can activate him a grip legs

Depends how you want yo wrestle. If both just want to wrestle Olympic (freestyle /greco-roman) style for shoulder pin with those rules and had access to a mat I would prefer wrestling shoes.
If both want to wrestle any other style I would only go barefoot because of the more leg holds you can use and there shoes are not so good to set holds tight... as holdswrestling described.

I always prefere fighting with Bare foot. By the way My feer are quite large
