Had a bit of a massive setback this week.
First session was fantastic - pushed myself really hard and have started to get better at my footwork (doing mma it wasnt as much of a big deal as it is in boxing or at least we never spent the time on it at the MMA club)
Fitness is improving as well.. then came Wednesday... I could hardly walk - I have shin splints - shooting pain in my right shin - so not been able to do much at all this week but rest.

I think its been the leg work - holding my legs and putting pressure on them in a way they are not used to.. while you do get used to it- doing things too hard or quickly before hand can cause problems (I got them when I used to run a lot).
So back next week - but will have to take things a lot easier.

Make sure you are not deficient in vitamins and minerals. Talk to your GP and get a blood lab done (including stress hormones, inflammation markers), and pay attention to even the small stuff. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for a lot of unnecessary suffering, lack of progress, risk of injury, and premature aging.
